The Parish Hall will soon re-open. Most of the work has been completed…. It is our hope that the Parish will be able to see our newly renovated and repaired Hall on the August 12-13, 2023 weekend. A committee has been formed to help us celebrate the opening.
After the Saturday and Sunday Masses you will be invited to walk down and enjoy a few little refreshments and to see how the Hall has been repaired. You can see the new kitchen,, the new stage, a screen that powers down, for groups, students, and conferences to make use of when giving presentations, or for future possible movie nights! New furnaces provide air conditioning, electrical and plumbing has been installed, storage rooms have been built for for chairs and tables, cabinets for CWL, and new washrooms including a disability washroom.
After the 11 AM Mass of that weekend we will gather to announce the recipients of the Parish Volunteer Award… Due to the health lockdowns these past few years we have been unable to assemble. As requested many have sent in names of a deserving volunteer. A committee will select the volunteers to be honoured for their long dedicated service.
The Parish Hall will be given an official name in honour of a saint. A plaque with the name of the Saint will be unveiled and blessed. Many have sent in their suggestions for the Saint whose name will honour the Hall.
If any member of the parish has any history of the Hall please forward it to Fr. Boyd. The Committee is seeking any old photos, pictures of weddings, birthdays, school events, masses, or any event that took place in the Hall over the years. We will scan the photos and put on screen. Please place in an envelope with name and address to be able to return to you.
