Children’s Sunday Liturgy – Friends of Jesus Program
Friends of Jesus is the Children’s Liturgy of the Word Ministry at Holy Rosary Parish. Programming is designed for children aged 4 – 6 years of age, but all children are welcome. Registration is not required. Children are invited forward at the beginning of the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, and proceed to the classroom. Children listen to the Gospel reading in terms that are easily understandable, and discuss how it relates to their lives. A full-colour pamphlet reinforces the Gospel story and has a short activity for the children to start at the Friends of Jesus and continue at home with their families. The session runs about 25 minutes, and children rejoin their families before the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The program runs from late September until early June.
Volunteers are welcome and needed; training will be provided. Screening of volunteers is required.
